Creator has sent me many times to His sacred writings in Psalm 20. Today He had me to research it deeper. I thought I would share my findings with you. Enjoy!

Psalm 20

To the Chief Musician.

(An ancient message in song)

Psalm of David

(Sacred Song used for prayer, worship and reflection of relationship with Creator Yahweh)

May the LORD answer you (David) in the day of trouble!

May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high [and defend you in battle]!

May He send you help from the sanctuary (His dwelling place)

And support and strengthen you from Zion!

Zion

Zion often represents a place of Yah’s presence, a symbol of spiritual refuge, a place of hope and joy for believers.

May He remember all your meal offerings

And accept your burnt offering.

                              Meal Offerings

In the Old Testament, a meal offering (or grain offering) is a type of sacrifice offered to God, typically consisting of fine flour, oil, and frankincense. It symbolizes the worshiper's dedication, gratitude, and acknowledgement of God's provision, rather than the atonement for sin, which is the purpose of other sacrifices like the burnt or sin offerings. The meal offering is a bloodless sacrifice, emphasizing the dedication of the worshiper's labor and sustenance.

Key Components and Symbolism:

  • Fine flour: Represents purity and the best of human effort.

  • Oil: Symbolizes the Holy Spirit and divine anointing.

  • Frankincense: Represents prayer and worship ascending to God.

  • Absence of leaven: Leaven (yeast) often symbolizes sin, so its absence in the meal offering emphasizes a desire for holiness and purity in worship.

  • Purpose and Significance:

  • Dedication and Gratitude:

The meal offering expresses the worshiper's dedication to God and thankfulness for His provision.

    Acknowledgement of God's Sovereignty:

It recognizes God's ownership and control over all aspects of life, including the fruits of the worshiper's labor.

    Symbol of a Right Relationship:

It signifies a desire for a right relationship with God, characterized by purity and dedication.

    Communal Aspect:

Meal offerings also played a role in supporting the priesthood and fostering a sense of community.

    Distinction from Other Offerings:

  • Unlike burnt offerings (which involve the sacrifice of an animal), the meal offering is a bloodless sacrifice.

  • While burnt offerings are primarily for atonement, meal offerings focus on dedication, thanksgiving, and a sweet aroma to God.

May He grant you your heart’s desire

And fulfill all your plans.

We will sing joyously over your victory,

And in the name of our God we will set up our banners.

May the LORD fulfill all your petitions.

Worship Banners

Banners (flags) represents: Whose army you belong to (Yeshua),

represents Victory!  Worship reminds the enemy of what he use to have and now has been given to mankind to praise Creator Yahweh with. The lifting of our hands is an evening sacrifice.  We are bringing the sacrifice of praise, when we sing and when we wave our banners.

Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed;

He will answer him from His holy heaven

With the saving strength of His right hand.

God’s right hand

Symbolizes God’s power, authority, and favor, often indicating a position of honor and strength.  When applied to Yeshua, it signifies His divine sautés and authority within the Godhead.

Some trust in chariots and some in horses,

But we will remember and trust in the name of the LORD our God.

Chariots and horses

Chariots and horses were used in battles. Military power and human strength.  Relying on earthly resources.  Now we use the power of the name of Yahweh (God) and Yeshua (Jesus).  As we call out His name, he fights for us and wins!

They have bowed down and fallen,

But we have risen and stood upright.

TPT: Our enemies will not prevail;  they will only collapse and perish in defeat while we will rise up, full of courage.

O LORD, save the king;

May the King answer us in the day we call.

TPT: Give victory to our king: O God!  The day we call on You, give us Your answer!

This is a prayer as intercessors for our leaders. (as they prayed for King David before he went into battle) I believe not only for our Leaders, but also missionaries, ministries, warriors, etc. who are going to battle. We stand in the gap and pray.

Our prayers are powerful and will be answered by our Creator Yahweh
